This work includes a group of collaged and found material circled around a large, nearly blank, pale blue paper with a tiny earth rendered at the bottom. On the small triptic above the blue sheet, there is a drawing of reclining Abraxas, a cryptic description of what Abraxas is, and an erased Abraxas.

This collection of drawings aims to coalesce ideas about the temple of Solomon, the Tower of Babel, Jacob’s ladder, and temples as means of ascension toward enlightenment. It is named Tower of Babel specifically for this tower’s overt purpose of physically building a temple aimed at reaching heaven.

This is a drawing of an experience the Biblical Jacob had of wrestling an angel through the night. Here, Jacob is drawn as a high school wrestler struggling with an indistinct, shadowy form.
Dead Goats, 2018, found paper, pencil, 7” x 17”
This a picture divided into quarters with dead goats rendered at either end, and indistinct ocean scenes in the middle. The goats were drawn in response to Old Testament sacrifices, as well as the means by which Jacob deceived his father to gain his birthright (he wore a goatskin to make his father believe that he was Jacob’s hairy brother, Esau).
